Another leap into the past - this time into the world of Italian fashion and the designs of the internationally acclaimed Alberta Ferretti.
I absolutely loved this show!
I found everything I enjoy here: grunge nonchalance, minimalism, elegance, unique color and material combinations... you just have to see it!
Trademark
The designer is known for her masterful approach to fabrics and cuts, and this collection only confirmed that.
The runway was dominated by heavier, warm materials like wool and velvet, paired with more delicate, sheer fabrics.
It was these contrasts - softness and rawness - that were one of the main themes of the entire show.
However, what particularly caught my attention was the color palette.
Ferretti chose deep, intense shades: burgundy, purple, red, a whole range of grays including silver, and the timeless black.
A Higher Level of Femininity
The show was a tribute to the fair sex, but it's worth noting that it was a unique tribute.
Loose pump trousers, which might remind many of the kitsch of the '80s, were presented in such a way (both in color and material) that they exuded elegance.
Oversized leather jackets with batwing sleeves, seemingly pulled from a wardrobe of decades past, gained a new, incredibly stylish life here.
Vintage-inspired ensembles drenched in silver, gold, and metallic patterns completely enchanted me!
Additionally, long, perfectly tailored coats, classic blazers, ruffled blouses, and dresses in beautiful colors.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Accessories
When it comes to accessories, Ferretti opted for minimalism, although there were a few standout elements.
First, the jewelry consisting of large, gold earrings and necklaces, which added boldness to the otherwise understated looks.
Second, studded belts, skillfully and unexpectedly incorporated where you wouldn't think to find them at first glance.
Besides that, there were simple, elegant handbags in muted colors, as well as heeled ankle boots with loose shafts.
Summary
The entire show was set in a mysterious, somewhat dark atmosphere, which perfectly corresponded with the character of the collection.
The models moved down the runway to music that enhanced the mood of elegance and sophistication.
Alberta Ferretti's Fall/Winter 2020 collection is a tribute to femininity in its most complex form.
It's a proposal for women who aren't afraid of contrasts, who are chic, and who can combine classic and modern elements.
I think it's worth drawing inspiration from this collection in the upcoming season as well.
What do you think of this collection?
I'm looking forward to your opinions in the comments!
